Vegan Cheese Pizza

Vegan Cheese Pizza

Vegan Cheese pizza recipe

The making of the perfect vegan cheese pizza

Before I went vegan I loved pizza… Umm lets be honest who doesn’t love pizza?!

When I wasn't vegan I use to make homemade pizza, because it was cheaper and just plain fun. I could be creative with what I put on my pizza’s and experiment with toppings, but I will forever love the classic cheese pizza.

Then I went vegan and for a little bit I didn’t really cook homemade stuff because going vegan was like opening up a whole new world for me. It was learning what I could have and what I couldn’t so I would stick with certified vegan food! I was afraid to venture out and actually cook like I use to because I really didn't know anything about cooking vegan food.

It took me about 6 months until I started feeling more comfortable with knowing the things I liked and what I could have and how to cook vegan before I actually started cooking stuff more homemade and making my own recipes like I use to before I went vegan.

Now lets get back to the pizza because that’s the real reason you are all here. I started eating tofurkey’s vegan frozen pizza and for awhile that was great, it satisfied my craving for some pizza and I thought it was as good as it was going to get for vegan pizza, but oh boy was my mind about to be blown...

Then one day downtown my family and I stumbled upon a pizza place called Sizzle Pie that had vegan pizza!! I ate there almost every weekend for 6 months because not only did they have vegan pizza; their vegan pizza was delicious. Probably the best pizza I have ever had in my life.

So finally one day I was like why don’t I just try making my own pizza? I am a great cook (sorry tooting my own horn over here). So I went out and bought all the ingredients for my pizza and cooked it all up. When it was done I was so excited I bit into when it was still blazing hot with not in a care in the world because I was expecting a mouthful of heaven.. Pizza heaven.

But what I ended up getting was a mouthful of disappointment… it was nothing like pizza I have ever had or wanted! It all went wrong because the vegan cheese was not good and had the weirdest taste.. But I was sitting there thinking what the heck did I do wrong with my vegan cheese?

So that’s when my quest started.. I was going to make a vegan pizza and I was going to make it great!

So after A LOT of failed attempts I give you -finally- the way to make a delicious vegan cheese pizza! As easy as pie!

Time to get Baked!

Ingredients:

  • Vegan frozen pizza crust (or make your own)
  • Vegan mozzarella cheese ( I recommend follow your heart)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Oregano seasoning
  • Basil seasoning
  • Cooking spray
  • Marinara sauce

Directions:

Step 1) Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Step 2) On pizza stone or pan spray the cooking oil and roll out the pizza dough.

Step 3) Spread the marinara sauce on to the dough as much or as little as you want (it’s your pizza do you like it saucy or not?)

Step 4) Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, Oregano, Basil on top of the marinara sauce.

Step 5) Sprinkle cheese down (again this is all up to you how cheese do you want it) then once the cheese is down sprinkle a little bit more basil on top of the cheese.

Step 6) This is the important part when the oven is preheated right before you put the pizza in spray the top of the pizza with the cooking spray.

Step 7) Cook the pizza for 20 minutes; The cheese should be melting and bubbling.

Step 8) Turn your oven to a low broil and leave in there for 3 minutes.
